The whole notion of writing comics started with torturing Peter with "Yoda speak" in 6th Grade (2002). It elevated to the point at which I made him a quick note stating "USE THE FORCE OBI-WAN MUST!" accompanied by a little doodle of Anakin Skywalker. That little doodle sparked the idea for many other Star Wars parodies, labeled "Jeti & Empyr". The Star Wars parodies expanded to parodies of other popular media, such as "Harry Blotter". It was in 2003 when the idea struck me to start using events and people in my own life for source material. (The Star Wars thing was beginning to run dry.)
Thus, "My Life as a Comic Strip" was born. The titled was later shortened to "Mlaacs", then the present-day title, "M-Comics". At first, my friends (Peter, Matt and Jamie) and I frew simple, stand-alone comics. It wasn't until January of 2003, that I discovered the magic of "comic stories" through When DeLuca Attacks. This multi-strip story format proved to be more entertaining, with a large cast of characters provided by the people around me. The traditional comic story consisted of two full pages of a story (which were called acts) with an "intermission" in between, to advertise for upcoming stories. There was also a third page that consisted of "deleted scenes", or "bloopers". Later on the third page was more commonly used for a third "act", making the story longer.
Despite losing half the group when advancing to high school, I resumed drawing the comics my sophmore year (2005). Two years and 28 stories later, I decided that it was time to make M-Comics a working, continuous project. July 2007 I set up an account for M-Comics on the host Smackjeeves, attempting to keep the now webcomic a daily updating, newspaper format (daily in Black and white, Sundays in color), comic strip.
